Thankyou, Central Park Conservancy. NYC.

Central Park has been through some changes in its time. I was recently shocked to see on a TV programme that in the 1960's and 1970's the park looked very run down and dismal. I found it quite shocking and hard to believe after visiting New York City for the first time in 2013 and saw Central Park in all its glory. I fell in love with the wonderful scenery, flowers, trees, greenery, walkways, wildlife, water areas, bridges and community spirit, that is Central Park today.
All thanks to the Central Park Conservancy, a non profit company which have built up the park through the years since the 1980's and are continuing to maintain its high standard with its many workers/volunteers and organisers.
There is a video telling the story of how the transformation came about at http://www.centralparknyc.org/about/about-cpc/

Central Park Ice Event Cancelled, Expected Extreme Temperatures.

Expected cold weather has prevented Central Park from holding its Ice Festival scheduled for Valentines weekend, high winds and extreme temperatures are forecast.
Sadly in January the Winter Jam NYC was also cancelled, nature made sure New Yorkers had plenty of snow to play with in Central Park!
