A Visit to Roosevelt Island, New York.

The day we visited Roosevelt Island was a beautiful sunny day, therefore giving us amazing views from the Roosevelt Island Tramway (cable car) over the East river.
Roosevelt Island is a quiet residential area, with the historic Roosevelt Memorial and ruins of the old small pox hospital, where time seems to stand still, it is situated in a lovely park with geese peacefully wandering around, and amazing views of New York's Skyscrapers.
Locals were taking their early morning jog and an excercise class from the local community was in progress.
A lovely place to visit with a tranquil atmosphere, it's hard to believe you are a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and Queens.
The tram can be boarded at 2nd Avenue and runs alongside The Queensboro Bridge.
